Description

The name of the tribe, Apsáalooke [əˈpsaːloːke], meaning "children of the large-beaked bird", was a name given by the Hidatsa, a neighboring Siouan tribe. The bird, perhaps now extinct, was defined as a fork-tailed bird resembling the blue jay or magpie. French interpreters translated the name as gens du corbeaux (people of [the] crows), and they became known in English as the Crow.

I did this for an art show that is happening in a couple weeks. I wanted to embody the spirit of the Crow indian tribe and modernize it.
