Left at 6 AM, drove all day until we reached Waynesburg, PA and got a hotel for the evening.
Tuesday - June 3, 2008
Drove the rest of the way to Jonestown, PA where we were camping for the week. Put up our tents and relaxed for the rest of the day.
We had decided to take the Way Bros. plushies that I had made for us and document our trip using them.
[1: Success! The tents are up! - 2: Gerard and Mikey, hangin' around the tents]
[1: Push Gee! -2: It was a sentimental moment as we celebrated Gee and Mikey's first time on a slide. ]

We left late in the morning to go to Hershey, PA-- where fantabulous chocolate is born! We went to the zoo and the Chocolate World factory.
[1: Quiet now as Gerard approaches the alligator.. - 2: In front of Chocolate World.]
[It's peanut butter-chocolate time, peanut butter-chocolate time..]
Later that night, we discovered in the campground's store, they had little Amish doll clothes and proceeded to dress up our plushies in the colorful outfits.

Traveled to Philadelphia to learn a little about the history of our nation and trek through the musky halls of a former-believed to be haunted-prison. The Constitution Center was fun but in complete chaos with school students. We walked down to see the Liberty Bell as well.

Then we headed to the Eastern State Penitentary where there are believed to be ghosts haunting the cells. This had to be one of the highlights of the trip. I'm an avid Ghost Hunters viewer and they went to ESP on two occassions, finding some paranormal activity.

Road trip to NYC! We went to the Metropolitain Museum of Art first and I'm so glad we did. I'd never been there before and was just blown away at the beautiful pieces in there, especially the Greek and Roman statues. There was also and exhibit on fashion of Marvel comic characters which was the main reason why I wanted to go. If you're in the NYC area, go check it out, it's open until September. We weren't allowed to take pictures in this part of the museum but it's definitely worth a look. We spent two hours at the Met and didn't even get to the second floor.
Then we walked, yes walked about 40 city blocks down to Times Square. My feet were dead but I didn't care. We checked out the M&M store and Toys R Us, as well as got some dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Funny story. I had decided to wear my Mikey Fuckin Way shirt that day. What better day than the one we go to NYC, right? Well, while at the M&M store, this older lady stared at my shirt and then as I was talking to the cashier about where to find the bathroom, she told Trista that she "finds our shirts offensive." It was really rather funny. Then, as we were walking in Times Square, in front of the MTV studios, an older gentleman (probably late 30s) said, "MCR rocks!" And another guy saw my shirt and was like "Wuuuuuut?" then laughed.

Ahh, the reason why we planned the trip in the first place. The Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's WWII Weekend. We really didn't know what to expect and so, we arrived at the airport in Reading, PA minus sunblock, hats and sunglasses. The place was HUGE. There were battle re-eactments, people dressed up in 1940s garb everywhere and an airshow just to name a few things. Despite being dehydrated and burnt to a crisp, it was an amazing experience.
